I ran this scenario through the search and couldn't find anything, so here goes (can you tell I am new to this?)....

My wife and I have been married close to 11 years during which time she has been serving in the USAF.
We are currently stationed in Japan, our last stateside residence and dutystation was in Texas.
I have been told, since I am a resident of Texas, it's laws prevail in divorce matters.
My wife has asked to have a Japanese court take care of the divorce as it's faster and cheaper, but I was told to be very careful..
I was also told that first I needed to make sure that TX would even accept a divorce from Japan as legal...

Can anyone help me with this or point me in the right direction for more info please?

Thanks...
