don't know what to do?

Help! my husband filed for divorce in Michigan, I left there approx. 2 months ago, am living in Georgia now. Do I have to appear at court hearings in Michigan each time as this is going to be quite costly on my part...I guess I am saying if we (husband and I ) both agree on child custody, dividing up property, etc...isn't it just possible to sign papers once through the mail instead of all the traveling. I am not well at this point either which will make traveling almost impossible at this point. I have not gotten a lawyer yet, he has...do I need one if we both agree on everything? HELP and thank you!

In Indiana, if you agree on everything and you submit the proper paperwork, such as the petition for dissolution initially and later the settlement agreement, waiver of final hearing and decree, you can skip all the court appearances and do a purely paperwork divorce.

Check with a lawyer in your state to see if you can do it that way in your state. I suspect that you can.

Best of luck to you!
