Employee privacy

Louisiana- I recently went to the doctor on my day off. My supervisor found out and insists cause i went to the doctor I must have a doctors note saying I can work in order to return to work. The fact of the matter is my going to the doctor had nothing to do with work and was not done on company time. Can my supervisor write me up, suspend me or fire me for not having a doctors note?
