My uncle recently went to refinance the home he has been paying on the last twenty years and the loan was rejected because the deed has his name along with his ex wifes (ex for 28 years). They were actually legally divorced when the home was purchased, she lived there only a couple years when the house went into foreclosure, she left and he assumed payments. Does he have any legal recourse in getting her off the deed, the mortgage is solely his. Any help would be appreciated.

Q: Does he have any legal recourse in getting her off the deed, the mortgage is solely his

A: He must have his ex-wife quitclaim to him her interest in the land.
