False Allegations Of Harassment And Abuse

What is the name of your state? MI

Our son has been married for 5 months, during the 4th month wife called him while he was out of state to say that she had emptied their apt and taken their daugther to a neighbors apt. When he returned she allowed him to take daughter home with him. Two weeks later she came back and took daughter to live with her at parents home, Since that time she has not allowed our son to see his child, instead she has made police reports everytime he has called her to ask to see the child or to check on her well being. She has had police show up in the middle of the night where he is staying by telling them he is trying to commit suicide(never has tried, never even thought of it). Now claims that he is never going to see his daughter again, that she has charges against him etc. He is filing for divorce in a few days, he has found out that she had been seeing someone during the entire marriage, only married him she says to the childs sake. They had been together a total of 3 years. Question I have, how is going to be able to defend himself in court when she has made all of these false reports? He has spoken with detectives and explained that he has done nothing, they say they understand but they have to respond to every complaint she makes. Will all of these police reports be held against in when it comes to getting joint custody of the child? I am afraid she is making a case to try to terminate his rights because she wants to go back north where they had lived and be with her friends to have in her words "fun because she never had a childhood"

The best thing that you can do for your son is to help him retain a good attorney to protect his interests. However please remember that you are biased (which is totally normal) and your bias can have ramifications that you may not realize now.
