filing for divorce...tax question

What is the name of your state? AZ
Still cannot find my soon to be ex husband, and I am planning on filing for divorce. However, with tax season right around the bend, I'm concerned about how I am supposed to file. I do not know where he is and have no contact information for anyone who might know how to find him to get his tax info...

So how am I supposed to file? Single? How can I file married if I have no way of getting his tax info? Any input? I apologize for not putting this in the tax forum but it was pretty empty there and thought my chances of getting a response would be better here.

And regarding filing for divorce, if I cannot find him to have him served, after a certain period of the time, will the divorce proceed anyway?

Married people have two choices as to how to file their tax return. Married filing jointly, or married filing separately.

One exception to that is if you have children in your physical custody and have been separated for at least the last 6 months of 2007. In that case you may file head of household.

Your spouse leaves the marital residence for at least six months of separation. Your 21 year old child attended college for half the year and lived with you for six months and left when your spouse left.

Can HOH be claimed by anyone?
