Question

Filing own divorce...

What is the name of your state? CA

I filed my own divorce paperwork in 8/05. The case is still active. If there are changes that need to be made to the original petition, is there an amendment form that needs to be filed?

filed in 2005??? Are you sure that the case is even still on the docket? Did you ever serve the other party, generally there is a time limit on that as well. did the Court tell you that the case was still active?

Yes it is...

Yes, the case is still active. The other party has been served. I just requested a trial. However, some things have changed. That is why I am asking whether I need to file an amendent or do I just present the new info at trial?

The Answer

The original Petition form has an AMENDED box. So, it is the original form with the AMENDED box checked.
