What is the name of your state? CA
I have been separated from my husband for 11 months and recently found out that he owes $3000 in credit card bills. How can I make sure that I am not held responisble for his debt (current or future)? I do not wish to get a divorce at this time.
Thanks, Lotta

CA is a community property state. You and he can both be held liable for the others debts and stand to gain from the others assets.

Your best bet is to hire an attorney and file for a legal separation.
