Future inheritance question

undefinedWhat is the name of your state? Florida
I have been married for 32 years and want to divorce my husband - I received an inheritance from my mother and used on the house and cars. My husband will inherit a large sum of money from his mother when she dies (she is currently 88 yrs old) Will I be entitled to any of his inheritance if we are divorced when she dies - can it be put in the divorce decree? I do not expect to get any alimony from him in the meantime - I am not employed - I will look for a job to support myself (I am 55 yrs old)

Get educated on divorce in FL and rethink some of the things you state in your question, such as Alimony you may still be eligible for that especially given your age and length of marriage, FL is an equal distribution state which means that your inheritance may have to be justified to be able to protect it and will likely need an attorney to help with this divorce especially re any future claim on his inheritance, also is it possible that your Mother in law might name you seperately in her will should you divorce, have you provided care for her without payment

Don't act in haste.

You want part of your by then ex husband's inheritance from HIS mother, however, you didn't mention whether or not you plan on letting him have part of YOUR inheritance, (house and cars).
I hope you do plan to , because fair is fair, if you are entitled to part of his inheritance recieved AFTER divorce, then surely he should be entitled to part of your inheritance recieved DURING marriage.

You can ask for Rehabilitative Alimony (temporarily) to assist you while you get a job, home, etc.
Good luck.
