Gift? What is the name of your state? TX My daughter and her husband live in Texas. At this time neither are employed. My parents want to give her a car as a gift, to remain in her name only, since it appears that a divorce is in the not too distant future. What is the best way to make sure that her husband cannot get it (or half value) in that situation. Thank you. ![]() |

| Wait 'til she's divorced. Or buy it themselves and loan it to her.

| They should just keep ownership and give her it's "use" as the present.
