Help with Final Divorce settlement

What is the name of your state? California

Hi,

I am finalizing the last details of my settlement. I am working with seperating docs and money. I am owed a small amount, after bills I owe and he owes. I want to make sure that accepting his offer doesn't leave me open for any legal problems down the road as I negotiate for other things, that might be of greater importance in the future.

I was married abroad, and want to keep the marriage license and so fourth from that country for my peace of mind. It will be difficult for me to acquire a certified copy. I am willing to provide him a photo copy of the license I currently retain, of course.

Is there anything I need to be aware of in making my decision?

I'm very grateful for any assistance.

Tell us what you mean by that?

I sponsored his immigration. He wants all document originals regarding this. I want to know what I will need to keep for myself, and what I am entitled to in this regard.

What original docs that I would best retain, and what I can give him copies of. Should I need information in the future, and to simply take care of myself. I will be his sponsor technically for the next 7 years, if he decides to stay in this country.

Thanks for your help.
