Question

Home Purchased after marriage, can I get it?

What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? Georgia

My current husband and I got married in June of 2003. We soon seperated in August of 2003, after he purchased a home we were to both live in. He left me in our current rental home, and moved out. I was a stay at home mom, and only had a small daycare in the house. I could not afford the payments on the house, so I had to move out. I moved in with some friends, and soon took a new job as a Nanny. This job moved me out of state, and kept me away from him. I ran into him on a visit to Georgia and he asked for my address so he could send me divorce papers. I did not give it to him, but did stop by his house later that day to discuss the issue. I asked if he had already filed for divorce, and he said no, I explained to him that I had spoken to an attorney, and he advised me to file for divorce first, and that I was gonna ask for everything I could get. He became angry, and I tried to leave. As I was reaching for the door, he tackled me from across the room, injuring my knee, shoulder and ribs. (checked out medically, just bruised) The police were called but due to the fact they could not see blood dripping, they did not have enough evidence to take him in. I told them I would pursue the issue of assault. Now my questions are:

1) am I entitled the house? after we were married his benefits increased by $630.00, which he lied to me and said it was only $217.00. So that allowed him to qualify for the house.

2) with the assault being under the new domestic violence can I push for the max in penalty?

3) should I also push for false imprisonment?

4) I wanna know what I can do to show him, he cannot push me around, and that when he tries to do it, I will stick it to him. I will not stand for abuse, and the verbal and emotional abuse was why we split?

Thanks for your support

"am I entitled the house? after we were married his benefits increased by $630.00, which he lied to me and said it was only $217.00. So that allowed him to qualify for the house."
*** No. However you could have a claim as to part of the property or equity. Is your name on the title??

"with the assault being under the new domestic violence can I push for the max in penalty?"
*** No. You have no option to 'push' for anything. Any criminal charges or penalty will be determined by the prosecutor and court.

"should I also push for false imprisonment?"
*** You can certainly see if the prosecutor is willing to accept that charge.

"I wanna know what I can do to show him, he cannot push me around, and that when he tries to do it, I will stick it to him. I will not stand for abuse, and the verbal and emotional abuse was why we split?"
*** Was there a question in there??

There are at least 17 lawsuits (!!) pending in various courts, including the US Supreme Court, asking if Obama is a natural born citizen (as req'd by Art II, Sec 1 of the US Constitution).

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport!

No my name is not on the title. He lied to me about it when he purchased the home, I was not even award of the increase in money he got after we got married. He lived with me for 8 months before we got married, then stayed another 2 months, then moved out.

There was not a question in that last section. It was more of a point. But as far as the prosecutor, I haven't talked to anyone. The incident report was filed with the magistrate by the police department. I did not do any of that. I did however get a TPO 3 days after the incident. The notice I got said that I was the petitioner and he was the defendant, does that mean I am taking him to court, or the state is on my behalf? Not sure about that part. Thanks for the comments, nice to hear info ahead of my court date on May 14
