What is the name of your state? IL

Im a 27 year girl.I was married in India an year ago. My husband is working on H1 here in Chicago. I have recently joined him on H4. Offlate it has become too difiicult to live together. I want to file a divorce and get separated. Will it be possible to file a divorce here in US because we were not married in US. After the divorce will I be able to get married to another person here in US.

Please help me as Im new to this place and do not many/any contacts here.

How long have you been living in Chicago? If more than six months then yes you can file for divorce there. In the US you only have to be a resident of the state where you file -- you do NOT have to be a citizen.
