How do I get a divorce from someone I can't find?

What is the name of your state? WA

I was married in 1989 in Nevada, lived in California, my spouse filed for divorce in California in 1993, but it never went before the judge. I moved to the state of Washington in 1994, and tried to file for divorce here, but since there was an open case in California, I could not do that. I have not had any contact with my spouse since 1996, and have no idea where he is-last I heard he was in Oklahoma. I am planning on becoming engaged, and NEED to get a divorce! What do I do??

Run an ad that complies with the terms of your state's statutes.

If he doesn't respond in the allotted time, then you can get a divorce granted by the court in his absence.

If you are unsure of this process, get an attorney involved.

Best of luck to you!
