How does this Work?

What is the name of your state? Florida

I have a friend who her and her husband sat down on the 9th and filled out all the paperwork of a Do it Yourself Divorce in Florida. They were able to come to terms on everything, they both signed it and she brought the paperwork to the court house. The employee at the court house said it would take about 25 days or so for everything to be final. Now here's the kicker...unbeknownst to her, her husband had seen a lawer eariler that week and he filed for divorce, she was served with the papers yesterday. My question is, which set of papers will be accepted? Can he fight the divorce that he's already signed so that he can use his expensive attorney?

My intuition tells me that since he's already signed the papers with his wife, even though he had previously filed, the papers he's signed will be the ones the court will accept, am I correct?

I believe (but do not know) that you are correct.
