Unhappy

I am a South Carolina resident. Our divorce was final in 5/22 of this year and the papers signed by the judge on 6/19. An asset list of items I was granted was attached to the divorce decree. My ex has retained the marital home. Last week I contacted him by one phone call and two emails on our company system (we both work for the same company - just in two different locations)asking him when it would be a good time for me to pick up the items. He did not respond. Today I was called in by our company HR group and given a verbal warning because I had violated the divorce decree which states that I am only allowed to contact him to set up visitation for our children. He is now planning have contempt of court charges brought against me.

How can I legally obtain the assets that are due to me if I am not allowed to talk to him? My lawyer asked his lawyer back in June for several dates for me to pick up the items, but there has been no response. I've talked with the sheriff's dept and they can go out with me, but he has to be at home or I won't be allowed in the house. My ex has a habit of not answering the phone, door, mail, etc.

Any advice?? Thanks so much.

Sounds like he is in contempt. So, you take his butt back to court and sue for contempt. When you get the order, show your employer.

p.s. hr should not be concerned here. i.e. none of their business.
