how long to get final court date?

I live in So. California..my soon to be ex served me papers in late October, his attorney has submitted a request for final court date. It has been one week since he submitted..how long to get court date? (Santa Ana, Ca. court. house)

And then, what would be the approx time line to the court date, after the lawyer has requesed a final court date??? Days, weeks??

I will not be present at court.. as he filed on his own and I did not answer. Is ithe divorce final on the final court date??

I plan to re-marry as soon as this thing is final. Can I re-marry right away? Do I need some form that says I am divorced?

I am trying to make wedding arrangements for end of May???
Please help??? I have no attorney or anyone to give me advise..

Thank you

My response:

You said you didn't file a responsive pleading; e.g., you didn't "answer" the complaint. Therefore, what you received was a "Notice of Default." Now, even if you wanted to, you couldn't answer or "contest" the Petition for Dissolution.

Now, it's just a matter of the court signing the "default" request, and having the court sign the Order of Dissolution. It could take anywhere from 3 to 8 weeks from the date of the filing of the Default. Once the Order has been signed, a copy will be mailed to you. Do not remarry until you have that paper in your hot little hands !

(I AM ALWAYS LIABLE) help again?

The default papers have been sent to court...about a month ago. So, I guess it should only take another month...hopefully..
Since I won't be at court, could my ex just give me a copy of the final court paper?? We are actually on reasonable speaking terms..
I thank you so much for your expertise...I have had so many questions and fell onto this site..very informative.. This whole thing has not been very fun for me. At least we were only married 5 months before he filed.. thank you

My response:

If he has an attorney, probably not. The attorney will send you a copy.
