How to start a Divorce

What is the name of your state? Texas

I need to start divorce proceedings to get me away from an abusive husband. We have been married 12 years and he turned abusive just in the last 3 years. (Not sure why)

I have had all I can take of it and I want out. The problem is that we live in the middle of no where with 1 car which I am not allowed to drive and if I do take the car I can't take the kids with me. (Thinking of sneaking off in the night)

I have no money what so ever and no idea how to go about getting a divorce that will not cost me an arm and a leg. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you no friends or family that could help you with transportation?

No I am pretty much alienated. No friends left and no family around.
I don't know where to turn.

Contact a women's shelter in your area. They should be able to help you. It would not be wise to leave your children.
