Husband is hiding money in secret bank account, how can that be discovered?

What is the name of your state? California

My sister is going through divorce. She discovered an ATM receipt showing an account and a withdrawal. It also coincides with a $9k withdrawal from their account of money that just "dissapeared". How does her attorney investigate that?

Send him discovery requests (required Judicial Council Form - Assets and Liabilities, then
subpoena the bank records, including the application for the account and the signature card and the history of deposits and withdrawals (or just monthly statements, not copies of dep & w/d).

The account number should show what bank (on slip) and branch (account #).

This probably should be two subpoenas: one for that specific bak acct #,
and one for any acct held by Mr So&S0, date of birth & SS#, for the period from date of marriage to present.
The bank will charge for providing that info, so try to streamline where it won't be many clerk's hours.
If yoyo lied on the A&L form, then she should request that the court reimburse the bank costs and the additional atty fees caused by his contempt of the process.
Judges hate when
people submit inaccurate documents under penalty of perjury
