husband put 4 sale on house in New Jersey

I am from NJ and have been married for 5 years in Feb (no kids just 1 child, 19,but not his). My husband put a for sale sign on the house I am not on the mortgage Is this legal to do? What rights do I have and what am I entitled to by contributing to the household for time spent here. I have put many hours of work into the house (Have photos) and he has done very little if that. He says I get nothing. I had left for a little over a year and bought a duplex. I had just rented it in April (he kept asking me to come back). He does not hit, but I am his mental punching bag and this is my torcher at this time. I need to get him out of my life and move on, what should I do before going to a lawyer?
