A friend of mine is getting a divorce, after waiting the required 2 months of separation, and an additional month, she called her attorney to see what the hold up in a court date was. The attorney's office told her that her husband had not yet attended the parenting class, and they couldnt get a court date until he does.

Now, he refuses to go. Can anything be done?

Also, he is pretty sketchy on his child support, payed 3 out of the 5 months so far, and has failed to set up the payments with the state as he agreed that he would in the paperwork filed at the time of separation. this is preventing the wife from recieving needed aid to help care for her child, because they family resources center (or whatever) have no record of child support on file (cause he is stalling). what can be done about this?

Thx in advance for your time and answers.

She needs to light a fire under her attorney to file contempt against dad for not attending the parenting class and for not following through with child support.

Is there actually a court order for child support? If not, he's under no obligation to pay. Maybe I'm just confused....
