Info on bifurcation

What is the name of your state? South Carolina
Hello,

I am presently being sued for divorce by my spouse and have resently learned that he is trying to get this dissolved by using something call bifurcation. Not sure just how to handle this or just how it affects my situation

I think that it means that you probably need an attorney.

Bifurcation

I have retained an attorney and will contact her with the information but just what is this and how does it work since he doesn't want to agree on any spousal support at all?
