What is the name of your state? Kansas
Does Kansas consider inheritance (received after marriage) community property?
My response:
Kansas is NOT a community property State. It is an "equitable distribution" State. Kansas is, however, one of the few States that considers an inheritance as a "marital asset", subject to "equitable distribution." For example, in California or Nevada, an inheritance is considered "separate property" - - and is never subject to division (except under certain, rare circumstances).
This is why I told you to "get out of Dodge City" and move to Nevada.
