Hi there
I was left a sum of money back in 1997 after the death of my father. I used all of the money as deposit for the house my spouse and I share. I also received a gift of money from my mother last year which was spent on home improvements.
My spouse wants a divorce and I am concerned that after the sale of the house, I will have to split everything with my spouse..We have equity in our home.
Will I lose my inheritance and my gift?
