I want to know if the state of IL will honor a Haitian divorce? I was married in IL last year for 2 months, yes the marriage was only for 2 months and I am in the Philippines right now. We dont have divorce in the Philippines so I was thinking of going to Haiti to get a divorce (when their courts are running already after the quake), since my spouse before is not responding to any of my calls anymore where originally we already agreed that he will file for the divorce in the US. I dont have a US visa to file it myself anymore, and I dont wanna get stucked being married. I want to start a new life with somebody. Please help.
