What is the name of your state? indiana

if someone gets a divorce and the judge asks do you want to change your last name and they answer yes and the judge ask to which name (this a 2nd marriage )to previous married name or maiden name. and they take the maiden name back can you legally go by the previous married name when its entered in divorce papers that you are taking your maiden name back.

If you legally change your name, you can change it to whatever name that you like. However your legal name is the name that you are known by under your social security number. A court order doesn't change your name until you take action with the SSA.

Sorry, but that isn't correct.

A persons LEGAL NAME is that shown on their birth certificate.... or as 'modified' by marriage or allowed by a court order.

Ok...I guess you are correct. However if the SSA doesn't recognize someone's "legal" name...then pretty much nothing can be done under that name.
