What is the name of your state? VA

Hi, my friend lives in VA and she would like to seperate from her husband. He doesn´t want a seperation, neither a divorce. She can not afford to life in VA, because its to expensive for her and her daughter.
If she would move to a different state her husband can get a court order. He could indicate her for kidnapping which he would do.
Is it possible in any way that she can get a leagle seperation, and move out of state with her daughter without getting in trouble?

Thank u so much for your help.
He is a very controlling guy. That is the reason i´m writing this and not her.

Mom can move wherever she wishes WITHOUT dad's ok.

However, dad has EVERY right to object to mom moving his child out of area. So, if mom wants CUSTODY, she needs to get a job, or borrow some money, and move out to someplace where the child will have access to BOTH their parents while this is sorted out in court. Mom's failure to have learned how to earn a sustainable living does not automatically entitle her to take her child that far away from their father.
