What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state?WA

After a couple gets divorced, years pass by (6+) and spouse "A" neglects to remove the name of spouse "B" from an account (shares of stock) awarded by the court to spouse "A" can spouse "B" legally access and close same account without permission?

Thank You

Legally?..no because that would be going in contempt of a court order. However as long as spouse B's name is on the account the brokerage has no authority to stop spouse B from accessing the account and doing whatever spouse B wants to do. Therefore spouse A needs to get it taken care of ASAP.

What if spouse "B" removes funds and closes the account after spouse "A" passes away? Would not the funds belong to the estate?

Thanks Again
