What is the name of your state?new york
me and my boyfriend, have lived together for 25 years we where gonna get married years ago but never did ,if we ever split and go our separate ways by law do we split anything we have between us ,furniture etc or is this if only when you are legally married is there such a thing as common law marriage
in ny state, :confused:

Common law marriages are not determined by the length of time parties have lived together.

NY has abolished CL marriages.
