What is the name of your state? Connecticut

Need to know if jewelry acquired during a 25 year marriage as gifts from spouse are considered personal property or marital property? This includes engagement ring and wedding band. Thanks!

My response:

Such items are gifts. The recipient of such items is the sole and separate owner. The same concept holds true for Birthday and Christmas (or Hanukah) gifts - - or items "given" for any other reason; e.g., anniversary.
