marital property?

What is the name of your state? hawaii
The situation is we have been married 4 1/2 years and have one child. Husband came into the marriage with a home in his name only. Am I entitiled to half?What is the name of your state?

A: It depends. Tell us what you have contributed (money or otherwise) to this land.

My response:

You're only entitled to an "equitable share" of the appreciated value of the home SINCE the marriage - - not of it's value on the date of marriage, and that share may, or may not, be 50%. It could be anywhere from 0% to all of it. There are too many factors involved that you haven't shared.
