| Marital separation agreement What is the name of your state? South Carolina
My husband and I were very young when we married. During our marriage both he and I were in college so we never really had the money to buy anything (house, cars, stocks, etc). We have been separated for over a year. We have no children and we've already taken care of dividing what little we had together. We have agreed completely on everything and have nothing left to dispute. My question is, do I still have to file a marital separation agreement before I file for divorce? It just seems like a waste of time and money to have to file a MSA. Is it mandatory or just a good idea? I used an online divorce firm and got papers, both divorce and MSA. I can't afford to hire an attorney,so I really need some free advice. |
