What is the name of your state? CA

In 1991 I married my husband while he was incarcerated. Although he was incarcerated under an alias name the state was also aware of his legal name. His alias name was fabricated along with a bogus social security #. At the time his appointed prison counselor informed us that if we were to marry while he was incarcerated we had to marry under his fictitious name. It has been several years since we have parted ways, and I am concerned whether or not I am legally married to this man or not.

I think that you better go get a consult with a local attorney. This isn't something that you want to ignore because there is a marriage certificate on file.
