What is the name of your state? MA

Just wondering if anyone has any opinions on hiring a mediator for divorce. We both want amicable, agreeable terms and we want the best for the children. Its a different concept, they are neutral and help the parties make decisions that are best for all involved. We are meeting with her next week. She can also draw up any legal papers. Any opinions on this way of divorcing? Its still $200 an hour, just hope it doesn't take more than 5 hours to come to an agreement!

Also, does anyone have any idea how long it takes to get divorced and then how long is it usually until the divorce is final? Is this a year process with the courts?

Thanks in advance for any input!!
