Can my husband force me to sell my house the we purchused together and currently have a mortgage and home equity loan for? If not, how would I go about retaining the property?

Have you filed for divorce yet?

Yes he can ask that the home be sold, right now he can't do anything without your signature.

You can aks for the marital residence, and if you are awarded it you might have to buy him out, or re-finance into your name only.

Can you afford this house on your own?
