What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Florida/Mississippi.... (I currently reside in Florida and married in Mississippi)

On November 14Th,2007 My future mother in law(Janice Pope) and I went to the Wayne County Chancery Court in Mississippi to apply for a marriage license. At this time my fiance(Eric) was residing/and working in Kansas and was not present to sign the application. The clerk accepted verbal authorization over the phone from Eric giving permission for his mother( Janice)to sign the marriage application for him. Was this legal? Would this be grounds for an annulment?

Not even a year later....

What happened to the days when marriage meant something and people fought TOGETHER to make a marriage work? Why are marriages entered into so lightly and seen as disposable? It makes me very, very sad.
