my attorney quit

What is the name of your state? georgia

i recieved copy of my attorney request to withdraw from case, will not return my calls, reason unknown to me. i have motion before court he filed and a hearing for that motion on 23rd of june. what do i do? can i represent myself on the motion he filed for this hearing? should i call the judges office to insure the hearing is still on even though legal counsel is withdrawing? can my counsel withdraw like this???????????
