my maiden name

What is the name of your state? michigan.... my divorce is final and now i want my maiden name back...Why do i have to ask my X husband his permission ? Is there any other way i can do this?What is the name of your state?

You don't have to ask your ex-husband's permission.

You ask for the change of name in the judgment in the original lawsuit.

If you did not do that, then you need to file a change of name lawsuit.
