Is my marriage even valid ?

Ive been married for 7years..looking into divorce,when i was told by my husbands ex that there divorce was filed but it was never finalized. supposely the file sat in the basement of the court house and was never finalized. So does that mean my marriage is invalid? we were married in L.V. Nevada-There marriage was in L.A. California. We all reside in L.A. California.
