My wife wants a divorce

What is the name of your state? New York
My wife says she wants a divorce, I don't. There is no infidelity or abuse it is all financial. Shemakes more money than I do. Aportion of my income is 1099 and I screwed up on my taxes oweing a couple of thousand dollars. She is bringing up issues that are 6 to 10 years old. How do I contest this action. So far I have received a letter from her lawyer saying she wants an amicible dessolution how do I contest this and how long does it take for her to proceed without my cooperation.
sINCE THIS POSTING WE HAD A DISCUSSION AND ALTHOUGH ALL IS NOT ROSEY SHE IS WILLING TO POSPONE ANY ACTION AT THIS TIME.

Get an attorney to file an answer to the petition. Simply put,without knowing every detail of the situation, there's no way we can tell you how long. Nor can we tell you how it will turn out.

Bascially, if one party wants a divorce and the other doesn't it takes longer, but will happen.
