Name change

My divorce has been final for two years. I would like to know if I can make my ex change her name back to her maiden name. I don't want her using my last name.

Was she court ordered to change her name?

If she was, you can file to enforce the order.

If not, No, you cannot force her to change her name.

The court would not order someone to change their name.

It is her name every bit as much as it is his name and he has no legal grounds to try to force her to change it.

Then you shouldn't have given it to her in the first place...

You cannot. Her last name is HER last name. Just because she ended up with that last name because she married you, doesn't make it any less her last name.

You don't even have any standing to bring the issue to court.
