What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California. I have been married 17 years and my husband just asked me for a divorce. I have only worked one year of out of all the years we've been married. I would like to know about alimony. What might I be entitled to for being married for that long and not have worked? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

No one can tell you that without knowing the nitty gritty of your financial lives, whether or not you have children, what kind of marital assets/debts that you have etc.

Get a consult with a local attorney. You will probably need one anyway.
