no divorce

What is the name of your state? Illinois
Atty did not do proper filing 5 yrs ago and I just found out I am not divorced. I am not remarrying, I am just trying to collect past due money that is owed to me by spouse. I applied for Legal aid and the atty they gave me discovered this complication. Legal aid has taken the case from the atty
to pursue it themselves, filing a nunc pro tunc. I do not know what is going on , legal aid does not return my calls. What do I need to do??? I have no knowledge of what is going on, or what I need to do. Do I notify my spouse that this is happening? Do I have a legal/moral/ethical obligation?
(I feel like I am back in a hamster wheel) What do I need to do next?

Schedule an appointment to meet with a Legal aide representative who is handling your case. Or personally go to the office and request an appointment if they arent returning your calls.
