opposing appeal of divorce judgement

What is the name of your state? NY

My Ex husband has filed a notice of appeal. The to be paid amount by him is a marginal 14K.

He is likely to stall me and / or outspend me.

In case he will in fact file an appeal I would need to oppose that. How can I learn how to file an opposition?

Should I wait until he really did file?

How much time does he have to file?

How can I demonstrate to the court that I can not afford a battle and that I do not want to waste the courts time without agreeing to a new settlement?
