    pension

    My husband has to pay me a certain amount of his 401K and pension per the divorce papers. Who makes sure this happens? I asked my lawyer and she says it has nothing to do with her. HELP

    Is he retiring?

    Your attorney should be drawing up a QDRO (Qualified Domestic Relations Order) for him to sign so that the 401k can be divided, and perhaps the pension as well.

    With my husband's military retirement, the VA was notified of it and they do the spliting of the money. So I guess it would go through the administrator of the pension.
