What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? fl
I am recently divorced and per court order property inside the house we both own was divided. I notified my x by txt msg (which is the only way that I an allowed to contact him) and let him know that I was coming up to pick the items up. I was denied access to the house to get the items I was allowed to keep. I called the sheriffs dept and had them come out.
The officer tried to reason with my x,and was not able to do so. The officer made out a report was made stating that he denied me access. The court ordered the house to be on the market and joint ownership of other items to be sold within 30 which will be Sept 11. What options do I have?

I just recently got divorced, and was given several items that are still in the house that we both own. I went today and my x refused me access to the house. We we told that the house had to be put on the market within 30 days ( 15 days are left)and I had to get the thing out of the house within the same period of time and other items had to be sold wihtin that time limit. Since he would not let me in the house today what are my options. We both agreed to this and signed it in front of the judge. He said that he was going to hire some one to load up the items on a trailer for me and then I could come pick up everything (this was not agreed upon). I'm concerened that it will be raining when he does this and everything will get damaged. Please help and thank you in advance
Take your signed agreement. Go to the police and ask for an escort to help you retrieve your belongings. (explain that ex is not cooperating) Go to the house with the police escort. Get your stuff.

The officer told me that he could not babysit while I removed my items. He said that it was a civil case, we were both adults and should try to work it out between us. If he does not all me access to the house is he in contempt of court? Thank you for your help

Sounds like he is in contempt of court. You could file in court on that basis.

I'm surpirsed at your local police will not help you out. I've seen the police do it here.

Has there been any domestic violence in your case?
