What is the name of your state? California. I filed a petition for divorce in California on Friday and served my husband. We have been married 4 years. Over the weekend we decided that we should just legally separate. How can I change the filing from a divorce pettion to a legal separation petition??? Is there a form I can file to switch it or what do I do?? I already paid $330 to file PLEASE HELP!!!

Go visit the family law facilitator or the self help desk at your local courthouse. You should be able to get help there.
