What is the name of your state?Florida.A friend bought a home 3 yrs before getting married,now after another four yrs of being married is getting divorced. The home has doubled in value since bought about 7ys ago. Husband is not on title ,but is on mort,and his income has contributed to the mort.pmt. Is house marital,non marital,partial . Since I originally posted,friend was told two senarios,Im posting as she dont have computer. One source said ,in Fl. the title of the home was what determined ownershio. Another,(para)said the home would be partial marital.The marital would be as BB replied,from the day they got married and the enhancement in value is marital.Does this ring a bell to anyone. Thanks.
