| Property not in my name I live in Nebraska, and have been married 32 years, with one grown son. It is possible divorce is in the future. My husband has made sure the house is in his name. The stocks and investments are in both our names. If one looks at our income statement for the past 10 years, he has earned no income. He farms, and it is a family corporation, of which I have no part--on paper. Basically, am I completely out of luck as far as the house goes? And if so, would it be reasonable to assume if my husband gets the entire farm and the house, would I get all the investments--assuming equal value to the house and farm-or would the fact the our entire income for the past 10 years, and a majority of our income over the past 25 years has come from me-give me at least an "equal" advantage? Or does the best lawyer win out? Who would Nebraska law favor? |
