Property Theft

I have a friend in Nebraska (no, it is really not me) that was living with her boyfriend. They split up...actually, he threw her out of the house. She and her son had all their belongings in the house they rented together. He did not allow her back into the house to retrieve all of her things, so she tried legal action. Her lawyer was not very helpful, sometimes rude. He arranged a court order, though, for her to go and get her things. We just had to go down to the police dept. and arrange for a "stand by" while she did so. Within the 4 minutes it took us to go to the police dept., The boyfriend had already been there. He declined permission again, and there was nothing she could do about it. By the time the landlord, police, and she got together to go into the house, he had left with all of her things. (She had gotten a chance to go in and look around once, taking a video camera, and found a lot of their things had already been removed, including all of her and her son's clothes and all of her son's toys.) The rest of her things he was continuing to enjoy living with...furniture, etc...

Does anybody know how she would proceed in the state of Nebraska at this point??? Her lawyer was not much help at all, and I was wondering if anyone out here had any ideas.

Thanks so much!

Small-claims court is the way to go in a situation like this.
